I remember my aunt Audrey as warm, welcoming and fun. My brother Jon, sister Jo and I, spent the last week of our school holidays with her and uncle Roy. She kept us entertained and busy; I remember playing in her large (as I recall it) back garden. I also remember pretending to be sick so I didn't have to return to school the following morning, but she could wisely see through me and calmly reassured me and settled me back into bed. To Auntie Audrey; whenever I think of Auntie Audrey I remember laughter and a sense of mischievous fun. As children, whenever we visited on family holidays, there seemed to be intriguing toys and games to play with, the like of which we had never seen...and on reflection and knowing Audrey’s thriftiness some of those toys were probably pre-war, but what fun we had!! As I grew up, and knowing Audrey as an adult myself, she was a woman ahead of her time as I remember her stories of charity shop bargains and what we would now call wild water swimming....all considered very trendy these days! On top of all this Audrey also had a great wisdom and seemed to be able to instil a sense of calm in times of stress, a skill indeed. I will miss Audrey’s presence in life but aspire to be more “Audrey”.......I think I’m going to have fun! In fond memory of an inspiring woman, free spirit and much loved auntie, love from Adele. xx

I am I and you are you, whatever we were to each other that we still are. Speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? Life means all that it ever meant, it is the same as it ever was.
